Pinxter Azalea

Pinxter azalea is a perennial native to much of North Florida, including Alachua County. Unlike exotic Rhododendron species in most yards, our native species are deciduous. Flowers can range from bright pink to almost white. It likes partial shade and acidic soil that is moist to acidic soil that is neither wet nor extremely dry. It can get quite tall when mature.
